Friday Foto Fun with Christmas Plants

Sorry it took me so long to get back. Our power went out Tuesday night and came back Wednesday night. Losing 24 hours in the busiest season but me waaaaay behind.

But, I trudge on because t's time for Carrie's Friday Foto Fun! This week: my Christmas plants. If you recall last year, I struggle with getting my plants to live and bloom. May I present, my Christmas cactus:

and my Poinsettia:

It's not the most beautiful thing but by golly, I brought it back!! This year, I win:-)

WOW what an adventure. You folks must now have a really deep appreciation for all those simple things often taken for granted I hope your warm now.
verrrr
Your plants long for something sometimes it is real hard to hear them asking for just what they need. That Christmas cactus is doing real well. I hope the cold house does not bother it.
To bring the poinsettia back was a real success they can be a pistil.

My grandmother use to have Christmas cactus, which bloomed in her home, Macon, Missouri.

I love poinsettias, usually transplant them to the ground as soon as weather allows. They grow good in Texas.

I've never been able to get those things to grow. Good job!

Just beautiful! My Christmas Cactus is blooming right now; I got it last week from my neighbor (her cat was eating it), and it's HUGE and the prettiest shade of pink. My daughter in Madison said they got about a foot-and-a-half of snow. They didn't lose power, but her first day of law school exams were canceled. Wow...that sure is a lot of snow!

I stink at plants. They die under my loving care every single time.

That's beautiful though!

Love your Christmas cactus! I have one that I am working on getting to grow large enough to bloom. I got a start from my mom last year, and it's still little! Maybe one day it will be a bloomer!
